Birthday Sewing: Sneak Peek 4

I am so happy you have made it this far! For sneak peek number four I paid a little homage to my childhood. While it was NOT my favorite movie it was still part of my childhood. I saw this fabric at Joann’s over the holidays but I didn’t want to pay the full $16.99 a yard so I passed it by. A few weeks ago, I ran across it again at my favorite discount fabric shop and found it for only $3.99 a yard so I definitely needed to make something with it. Take a look at this fabric!
This stained glass, Beauty and the Beast fabric was too cute to pass up at such a low price! This is a nice thick stretch jersey fabric perfect for some leggings or stretch pants. I went with some long stretch pants and I made a tie-up crop top to go with them.
For the pants, I used pattern 8641 by Simplicity. I went for view D with the slits at the front since I will be on a tropical island. These pants came out super cute and ended up being high at the waist perfect to wear with the tie up crop top I made. For the crop top, I did use a YouTube tutorial linked here. I really wanted a “bra” like crop but wanted it to be an easy make since I was so last minute making my outfits and that tutorial was perfect!
Unfortunately, I do not have early pictures of the pants nor the crop top like I have done in the past 3 posts. I guess you will just have to wait for the final post :-). I really hope you all are enjoying these sneak peeks and that you will all join me for the final looks once I get back from vacation at the end of January. Also, to get early looks at my final products, join me on my Instagram @mssew_itall! Make sure to join me tomorrow as well for a sneak peek at an outfit i made with my FIRST ever buttonholes AND invisible zipper!
